Leader: Prof. Dr. Fernando da Silva Rodrigues
Salgado de Oliveira University
Abstract: This research group aims to investigate themes converging between military history and border studies. Generally, the culture of memory has been playing an essential role for the continuation of the debate on the construction and development of a society. The investigation will take place in the analysis of how the military organizations acted in the conquest and defense of territories. Military institutions and their actors who contributed to the construction of history. It is important to understand the different attitudes and actions that the military has undertaken in these territories, identifying the established articulation between State and society. Therefore, the study of military history and its interface with the construction of borders will be debated.
